Dr. K. Ramalingam

Retired as the Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI) in December 2008, Dr. K. Ramalingam started his journey as Technical Officer in DGCA Civil Aviation Department and served for more than 36 years in Civil Aviation Department (DGCA), National Airports Authority (NAA) & Airports Authority of India (AAI), Cochin International Airport Ltd. (CIAL), Kerala State at National Level and was associated with various global bodies as well such as Airports Council International (ACI), Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Federal Aviation Agency (FAA), World Radio Communication Conference (WRC) and International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Dr. K. Ramalingam served as a Technical Advisor for the planning and implementation of airport projects as nominated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). He played a key role in planning and commissioning the New Green Field Airports: Hyderabad International Airport Ltd., Cochin International Airport Ltd., Bangalore International Airport Ltd., Kannur International Airport Ltd., Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd., Mopa International Airport Ltd., and Noida International Airport Ltd. He worked for the Development and Modernization of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Sikkim Airports: and 35 Non-metro Airports as well. During Dr. Ramalingam’s tenure, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) won two global-level awards at the prestigious ATC Global 2013 conference held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He was also awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the Anna University, Chennai in recognition of service in the field of Civil Aviation and the “Best Alumni Award-2007” by the IIT, Chennai.

G.S. Bawa

An Economist by Profession, G.S. Bawa has been associated with the Civil Aviation Industry in particular; for setting up a full-fledged Economic Planning Unit at the then International Airports Authority of India (now AAI), a Computer training Unit at the National Institute of Aviation Management & Research (NIAMAR), Course Development Unit including CBT (Computer Based Training), Statistical Unit at Delhi Airport, MIS Unit at CHQ in AAI. Bawa worked with the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) for setting up of specialized administrative units.

G.S. Bawa was further associated with bodies such as the Computer Society of India (CSI); Indian Society of Training & Development (ISTD); Aeronautical Society of India (ASI); Foundation for Aviation and Sustainable Tourism (FAST); Public Relations Society of India (PRSI); IAMTI, Montreal, Canada; TRAINAIR; ICAO and ACI. Bawa was the first person from AAI to participate in the ICAO statistics panel meeting and was later nominated as leader of the delegation. He was also responsible for organizing the First World Conference of ACI in India in 1993 and board meetings, seminars both in India and abroad.

Rajiv Diwan

Rajiv Diwan is a construction professional with over 34 years of experience in commercial and high-rise residential projects. His skills include cost estimation, budgeting, project management, and execution. He is proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD. Rajiv was a Project Manager at NV Residency LLP, overseeing a 26.36-acre development in Rohtak. Previously, he managed the construction of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Gujarat, a 20-acre project with a budget of Rs 26 crore, while working at LTC Commercial Pvt Ltd.

He has held roles such as Manager of Projects at RK Building Solutions, Senior Quantity Surveyor at Davis Langdon KPK LALCOMI, and Project Head at Q-Catalyst, where he handled various residential and commercial projects. Earlier, he worked on high-end residential projects in Delhi and Gurgaon as a Senior Project Manager at Abhishek Contracts and led the construction of City Emporio Mall in Chandigarh as an Assistant Project Manager at Synergy Property Development.

Alok Agrawal

Alok Agrawal is an accomplished International Airport Professional with over 25 years of experience in management and project oversight within the aviation industry. He has received advanced training from ICAO in Montreal and has significant expertise in contract management and the design of Airport Terminal Building systems. His career has been marked by a dedication to integrating technology and managing complex projects. Alok served as the Deputy General Manager at Airports Authority of India, where he has been instrumental since 2001. His responsibilities included the design, execution, and management of critical projects, such as the development of new airports across India, including Hirasar, Ayodhya, and Surat. He has also overseen the installation of Self Bag Drop Systems, Video Conferencing Systems, and SCCTV Systems at multiple airports.

Alok’s educational background is robust, with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia, an MBA in Strategic Management from IIT Delhi. Additionally, he completed the Airport Management Professional Program at Singapore Aviation Academy and attained International Airport Professional (IAP) certification through the AMPAP program by ACI-ICAO. He has been recognized for his contributions to the industry, including receiving the BTX Top Executive Award for his role as a speaker and thought leader at the Business Transformation Asia seminar in New Delhi.

Dr. Ganesh Krishna Chaukiyal

Dr. Ganesh Krishna Chaukiyal is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the aviation, hospitality, and travel management sectors. He served as a Professor in the Department of Aviation at Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Dr. Chaukiyal holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering, an M.Tech (now recognized as an MBA) from IIT Delhi, an Advanced Diploma in Management Research from AIMA, and a Ph.D. in Aviation from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi.

Throughout his career, Dr. Chaukiyal has delivered lectures on airport master planning, development, operations, and corporate social responsibility at the Indian Aviation Academy. He has participated in numerous workshops and conferences, both in India and abroad, and has published papers in reputable journals and articles in various magazines.

His professional journey spans over 43 years, including 35 years in aviation. He has held several prominent positions such as Member (Operations), Executive Director (Aerodrome Planning), and Airport Director at the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Notably, he played a crucial role in the rescue operation during the IC 7412 air crash in Patna in 2000. Dr. Chaukiyal has contributed significantly to the development of airport infrastructure in India and abroad, including Iraq and Bhutan. His achievements include supervising the construction of a new airport complex at Paro International Airport in Bhutan, preparing the DPR for the Greenfield airport at Pakyong, Sikkim, and leading the flagship Regional Connectivity Scheme - UDAN. He has also been recognized for his innovative contributions to the aviation industry, receiving the Amity Corporate Excellence Award in 2019.

Kapil Ahuja

He also served as a General Manager at Mahagun India, overseeing projects like Medalleo and Montage, and as a Senior Design Manager at Egis India Consulting Engineers, where he managed large-scale projects such as the Integrated Andhra Pradesh State Secretariat. His past roles include Additional General Manager at Unitech Limited, where he managed diverse projects including IT parks, luxury villas, and malls, and as an Architect with Sareen Estates, Vivek Varma Design Consultants, and Neha and Nirmal Kulkarni, where he worked on significant commercial and residential developments.

Sanjeev Jindal

A Graduate Civil Engineer having 30 years of experience in Planning; Design & Construction; and Operation & Maintenance of Airports in India worked as Executive Director for 5 years; General Manager for 10 years and Manager to Joint General Manager in AAI. Sanjeev Jindal gained experience in planning and upgradation of airports; estimation, technical sanction, works award, and monitoring of Airport Infrastructure works during his tenure. He worked as the Administration and Operation Head of 15nos. of Airports i.e., Guwahati, Agartala, Imphal, Shillong, Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Holangi, and in 6 different states of North-East India. He also worked in Delhi Airport, Amritsar, Srinagar, Jaipur, Kishangarh, Dehradun, Agra, Guwahati, Leh (World’s Highest Airport), Udaipur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Pant Nagar, Shimla, Gaggle, Pathankot, Kullu, Kota, Jaisalmer etc. and received Appreciations and Awards for completion of projects in time.

Jindal received the Chairman’s Award; Bhama Shah Award from the Government of Rajasthan; Best Public Officer Award from CIDC; Commendations and Awards almost every year. He represented AAI in various National and International Conferences and also gave Presentations in International Conference in the Passenger building in Frankfurt, Germany.

Charul Shukla

Charul Shukla, an accomplished architect with 35 years of expertise in aviation design and development, is an ICAO-certified International Airports Professional (IAP). Served as Executive Director (Planning) at the Airports Authority of India, played a pivotal role in various aviation design projects, including master planning for greenfield and brownfield airports, city-side and airside design, as well as the design and development of over 100 airports and terminal buildings. Her notable contributions include projects at Chennai, Trichy, Gwalior, Mangalore, Ayodhya, and Port Blair, among others. Renowned for her keen sense of aesthetics and interiors, she has been instrumental in creating functionally efficient, passenger-friendly buildings that are celebrated for their appealing interiors and ambiance.

Shiv Ratan Solanki has over 30 years of expertise in aviation safety regulations. He specializes in documentation for flying clubs, airlines, and organizations involved in aircraft engineering, maintenance, and operations, ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements as per the Government of India guidelines.

RAJ KUMAR KHANAGWAL

Raj Kumar Khanagwal is an ICAO-certified International Airports Professional and an advocate. He served as in-house counsel at the Airports Authority of India for over 28 years, retiring as Country Head Legal. With vast experience in contract management, including arbitration and international treaty disputes, he played a pivotal role in managing legal issues and litigation related to the privatization of various airports.

RAJESH BHANDARI

Rajesh Bhandari, who served as an Executive Director of Finance, exclusively managed the financial matters for the Airports Authority of India during his 27-years tenure in various capacities. A practicing chartered accountant, a member of the Delhi International Arbitration Council (DIAC), an annex of the Delhi High Court, and the Delhi Arbitration Centre at AAI.

Achal Jain

Mr. Achal Jain is having 35 years of experience in Railways operations, Maintenance planning execution and delivery of infrastructure projects including handling of mega construction projects. As a team leader , the project of the worlds highest bridge at Chenab of around 98 km has been successfully implemented. Also , added experience of development of IT applications for E governance of civil engineering department, of Indian Railways, which include track machine management system in bracket TMMS, tunnel management system, TuMS , digital inspection of bridges, the help of drone and Ledar, etc.
